The second edition of the Urban Road Traffic Safety Forum concluded its proceedings today, successfully organized by Bridge & Beacon Company, in strategic cooperation with the Al-Baha Region Municipality and the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.

The forum was held under the generous patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Al-Baha Region, at the Al-Hussam Conference Center in Al-Baha city, with the participation of an elite group of experts, specialists, and executive leaders from within and outside the Kingdom.

In this regard, Bridge & Beacon Company expressed its pride and honor in organizing this important national event, affirming that the forum's success reflects its firm commitment to supporting the Kingdom's efforts to achieve the Vision 2030 goals of raising the level of traffic safety and improving the quality of life.

Eng. Mohammed Al-Zahrani, Deputy Mayor of Al-Baha Region for Projects, explained that the forum issued a package of qualitative recommendations aimed at raising the level of traffic safety and improving the quality of life in Saudi cities. He pointed out that the most prominent of these is the call to establish a National Traffic Safety Platform to be fed with data and indicators from all relevant security, health, service, and academic entities, contributing to the development of sustainable scientific solutions to reduce traffic accidents.

The participants also stressed the importance of activating regional and urban master plans and distributing land uses and population densities in a way that reduces the causes of accidents, in addition to enhancing efforts for pedestrian-friendly cities by providing safe passages, encouraging light transport methods such as bicycles and scooters, and supporting public transport projects in all its forms to reduce reliance on private vehicles.

The recommendations affirmed the necessity of applying the standards of the Saudi Road Code and safety requirements in all projects, employing digital technologies and artificial intelligence in monitoring and analyzing traffic safety indicators, and developing a Smart Safety Index aimed at predicting accidents before they occur.

The recommendations also gave special attention to qualifying national cadres in the fields of transport, traffic, and safety, through the introduction of specialized academic programs and engineering departments, intensifying training courses and granting accredited professional certificates, in addition to raising the efficiency of monitoring and accurately analyzing traffic indicators and statistics to support decision-making and improve the Kingdom's ranking in global quality of life indices.

Finally, the recommendations urged the involvement of major national companies with pioneering experiences in traffic safety to generalize their successful practices, and to provide knowledge and logistical support for their implementation in various regions of the Kingdom.

At the conclusion of the forum, the Mayor of Al-Baha Region, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Sawat, honored Bridge & Beacon Company and all those who contributed to the success of the forum's activities, appreciating the company's pivotal role in organizing this important event.
